Ken and his crew did a total gut renovation of our master bedroom suite. We stayed within the footprint but managed to raise the ceiling, build a window seat, replaced the wall-to-wall carpet with reclaimed heart pine, added a beautiful lighted ledger-stone niche for art, and added doors to the patio. In the bathroom we also ripped out everything and replaced an outdated jetted tub with a huge shower with a stone seat, grab bar (for aging in place), river pebble floor in the shower, heating flooring in the rest of the bathroom, separate toilet room, etc., hidden washer and drier and ironing board.
We had a wonderful architect (Michael Haigler), designer (Guy Sullivan) and lighting designer (Donald Christensen). All these plans were very complex but Ken was able to implement them. This was expensive, but Ken stuck to the budget so we had no shocks during the process. Best of all, this was a three-month project, and despite bad winter weather, it was completed only three days late.
If you like modern taste, don't be scared by the name "Carolina Traditional Homes." Our project was very contemporary.
Ken is also a nice guy. When our record-setting rains came last month, our skylight started leaking (this had nothing to do with the renovation). Ken sent over his roofer to do a temporary repair which saved us from a lot of grief.
